The show, which airs on FOX, was formerly hosted by Sugarland singer and"Righteous Gemstones" actress Jennifer Nettles. This season, actress and wife of singer Brad Paisley,Kimberly Williams-Paisley, is hosting.
If you don't know the concept of the show, four farmers from across the country meet a group of over 30 single women who left behind the dating apps and love in “the big city” for a chance at "a classic American courtship,"according to FOX.
Splitting up the women between the farmers, they each will take a group of women to their farm and show them what it is really like to live as ranchers.
As the women learn to tend to the land, harvest crops and feed the livestock, they must ask themselves an important question — how much of their life are they willing to change for love?
While the premiere started with four Florida women, only two moved on to this week's episode.

What is the format of 'Farmer Wants a Wife'? Here's how the show works
If you don’t know how the show works, it’s a more efficient version of “The Bachelor.” With the same number of women there to date multiple men, each man’s dating pool is much smaller than Bachelor Grant Ellis’s was this season.
The show gets right down to business with a speed dating round in the first episode. Each of the men this season started with eight women who showed up wanting to date them, for a total of 32 women.
After the speed dates, the farmers choose which women they’d like to invite back to their farm for a scaled-down and much more rustic “Bachelor” situation. The women who aren’t picked get sent home, leaving each farmer with five women to continue dating.

There will be four farmers from around the country looking for love on the show:
- Matt Warren, a 30-year-old avocado and exotic fruit farmer from Morro Bay, California
- John Sansone, 25, works on a 170-acre soy, corn and wheat farm in St. Louis, Missouri
- Colton Hendricks, 28, is a cattle rancher and horse trainer on a 600-acre farm in Mena, Arkansas
- Jay Woods, 25, works as a hay and cattle farmer on 515 acres of land in Florence, Alabama

Of the 32 total contestants, four were from the Sunshine State. After the premiere last week, only two remain:
- Taylar, 26, a hairstylist from Sarasota, is competing for Colton
- Zoe, 22, an ICU nurse from Sarasota, is competing for Colton

Bartowfarmer Nathan Smothersappeared on season 2 of the reality show, telling the network he was ready to settle down and find his person. According to hisFOX bio, Smothers grew up working his family’s farm and citrus groves.
Smothers found love on the show, choosing Texas hairstylist Taylor BeDell to spend his life with. As of March 2025, the pair is still together, and reports claim DeBell is relocating to his Florida farm.
